Nice - Rue Rossetti and Place Rossetti

One of the main streets of Vieux Nice is Rue Rossetti.

We'll start todays little tour at the top of Rue Rossetti, near the Chateau.

Okay, now we've reached the top, we may relax a bit, have a smoke, and walk down. On your right you see the famous house with the bike.

Let's take a closer look.

We have arrived at Place Rossetti. I will be living right behind the Sainte Réparate Cathedral, from August 1st till August 31st.

These pictures were taken in December 2005, so that's the reason people are dressed up like that.

All kinds of nice Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. This is Il Duomo.

Even in December there's a lot going on in the streets of Vieux Nice. Sidewalk cafés all year through.

This is the end of this tour. I will be happy to publish new pictures as soon as I arrive in Vieux Nice, probably in the last week of July.

Ik weet niet of ze al bestaan, maar zijn er geen virtuele rondleidingen in steden te koop? Dat lijkt me geweldig, op je gemakkie door een stad slenteren, museumpje bekijken. Gat in de markt Jaap!
Trouwens sterkte met pakken en zo...

mooi... voor mij gaat het steeds meer op Italie lijken daar... beetje Genua, Livorno, Bologna (met die arcades)

@ Maria-Dolores, Nice hoorde tot 1860 bij Italië, en heette toen Nizza. Giuseppe Garibaldi is er geboren. Het plaatselijk dialect heeft misschien meer van Italiaans dan van Frans.

Prince Valerian Obolensky (1951) is living in Amsterdam, Paris, and Nice. He is the author of the book Russians in Exile - The History Of A Diaspora. After the cold war Prince Valerian Obolensky was invited by Anatoli Sobchak, mayor of St. Petersburg and Russian candidate of presidency, to come to his beautiful city. Sobchak offered the Prince, on behalf of the Russian Republic, his most sincere excuses for everything the Russian nation had done to the Russian nobility since 1917.

Recently Prince Valerian Obolensky started a new project: Russian Aristocracy Online - a genealogy website of the Russian aristocracy.
