We'll start our little tour of today under the colonnades of Place Garibaldi, then walk to Rue Sincaire, Place St. Augustin, Ruelle St. François, Rue de la Providence, Place Ste. Claire and Rue Guigonis.

All kinds of restaurants under the colonnades of Place Garibaldi.

There's a fruit and vegetables stand too and I'm sure they're great, but too expensive for me.

This is a place to go if you have money to spend.

I know someone whom I really would like to invite to eat oysters with me here, with a nice glass of chilled Chablis or Pouilly-Fumé.

However, since she's not coming, I might as well join the French Foreign Legion, here in Rue Sincaire.

Vieux Nice heeft zo'n vijftig straten en straatjes. Hoeveel straten er in heel Nice zijn, weet ik niet, maar duizend zullen het er zeker zijn.

Prince Valerian Obolensky (1951) is living in Amsterdam, Paris, and Nice. He is the author of the book Russians in Exile - The History Of A Diaspora. After the cold war Prince Valerian Obolensky was invited by Anatoli Sobchak, mayor of St. Petersburg and Russian candidate of presidency, to come to his beautiful city. Sobchak offered the Prince, on behalf of the Russian Republic, his most sincere excuses for everything the Russian nation had done to the Russian nobility since 1917.

Recently Prince Valerian Obolensky started a new project: Russian Aristocracy Online - a genealogy website of the Russian aristocracy.
